Gearing Up for the Time Change

Although day-light savings time does not officially end until, Sunday, November 1, 2009, you can already see that it starts to get darker at an earlier hour than before.  Now that fall is upon us, you should consider whether or not your employees are geared up for the fall season.  And, the best way to combat the end of daylight savings time is by stocking up on reflective safety gear.

When looking at reflective gear, the most common place to start is vests.  Reflective vests are comfortable, allowing workers free range of motion.  Brands such as Ergodyne are not only durable, but meet ANSI 107- Class 2 safety standards.  Safety vests are critical for workers that will be working after 6:00 pm, and, an inexpensive way for employers to be proactive and show employees that they are concerned about their safety.

Reflective hats are often overlooked, but just as important.  These stylish safety devices allow workers to keep their most important body part visible at all times.  Reflective hats help prevent injuries caused by accidents that often occur when attention and concentration become casualties of long days and dark nights, such as being struck by flying or falling objects.  Like vests, the Ergodyne brand is trusted in safety reflective apparel and will ensure the gear is ANSI approved and designed to last.

For colder nights or areas known for lower temperatures in the fall and winter months, reflective jackets should be considered.  A good reflective jacket is designed with a lining to help keep out the cold.  You can also find jackets that are waterproof, yet comfortable and durable to allow workers to get the job done in any weather.  Although you can find a wide variety of reflective jackets in the market, few can boast the ANSI approval, and patented design of the Ergodyne brand.

As darkness falls at an earlier hour, consider the safety of your employees and purchase the reflective safety gear that will provide the protection they need to work the hours that you desire.
